CoStar Group Sponsors National Building Museum "Murals That Matter" Exhibition

CoStar Group is proud to sponsor the National Building Museum’s newest outdoor exhibition, Murals That Matter: Activism Through Public Art, which coincides with the 2020 March on Washington events this coming weekend.

In partnership with P.A.I.N.T.S. Institute and the DowntownDC Business Improvement District, the National Building Museum's exhibit will feature D.C. street art created earlier this summer in response to social justice protests in the nation’s capital and elsewhere. The murals speak to the impact that art can have on the built environment as well as the nation’s urgent need for dialogue and reflection.

The exhibit will also include a special dedication to the life and legacy of the late Rep. John Lewis, a towering figure of the Civil Rights movement. Six artists will create murals commemorating the members of the “Big Six” who organized the original March on Washington in 1963: John Lewis, Whitney Young Jr., A. Philip Randolph, Martin Luther King Jr., James Farmer Jr. and Roy Wilkins. These murals, painted live on August 28 and 29, will be added to the exhibition upon completion.
